Typographic Posters

This is a class assignment done for CalArts. I chose to investigate Garamond, a typeface that contains a timeless sense of harmony and beauty. My starting point for the creation of this poster was the lightness and the breathing space of each individual letterform, qualities that point to the historic period in which it was created. The white spaces in Garamond have for me an evanescent quality to them, which I tried to portray visually, in a composition that evokes Rennaissance painted skies.
